‘Coronal Cells’ spotted in the sun’s atmosphere for the first time
Coronal landscape is dominated by ‘loops’ and ‘holes’, the holes represent cold, less dense areas of the atmosphere whereas the loops are the result of twisted solar magnetic flux. But what lies between these features has only recently been visualised, and these stunning atmospheric forms are called coronal cells.
